Signing Momerandum of Cooperation Between UNDP and the Ministry of Housing

UNDP Resident Representative, Dr. Adam Bouloukos met with HH Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr AlSaud, Advisor to the Minister and the General Supervisor of the Ministry’s Agency for Housing Support, Branches and International Agencies.

The purpose of this meeting was to sign a Statement of Intent between the two entities, UNDP and Ministry of Housing, agreeing to a cooperation for assistance that includes UN-Habitat, to provide support to the MOH in a tripartite cooperation that targets achievement of the following outputs:

1. Business Plan for non-profit sector engagement: defining the key areas of work and the roadmap for engaging non-profit organizations building on relevant international best practices in the field of development housing.
2. Review of current decrees, regulations, initiatives, as well as governance tools in general, for development housing initiatives.
3. Spatial Analysis for locating Non-Profit Housing Projects: study and analysis of the cities, sites and categories most in need of housing development using new information systems that will also include a demonstration project.
